Pushing Creative Boundaries: Op Art

Reachout Member, Michelle, has recently stepped out of her comfort zone, creating a breathtaking new Op Art painting titled 'Insomnia.'

Using gouache on canvas and drawing inspiration from Bridget Riley, Michelle explored a style and painting concept that was entirely new to her. This approach felt less intuitive compared to her usual focus on abstract collage pieces.

Nevertheless, Michelle embraced the challenge, diving into technical drawings and fine lines to create a painting that plays tricks on your eyes. She's particularly proud of this piece, as it pushed her to expand her creative boundaries and try something completely different. Michelle hopes that this artwork will inspire other members to break through their own limits and discover the surprises they're capable of achieving.

A big shoutout to Michelle for letting us share her incredible work and the inspiring story behind it!
